SPAGHETTI & BISON MEATSAUCE

A light and yummy version of pasta meat sauce. I loved this and plan to use the base marinara for LOTS of other delicious recipes.

TIME: about 1 and 1/2 hours (mostly cooking time!)

INGREDIENTS

  • 14 oz ground bison

  • 1 pint cherry tomatoes

  • 7 Campari tomatoes

  • 7 cloves garlic

  • 1 tbsp basil

  • 1/8 tsp red chili flakes

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • Salt & pepper

  • 6 oz can tomato paste

  • 28 oz crushed fire roasted tomatoes

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Turn oven to 450F. Put parchment paper in 9x13 pan.

  2. Cut tomatoes in 1/4.

  3. Cook cherry tomatoes, Campari tomatoes, garlic cloves, basil, red chili flakes, olive oil, and salt & pepper in a 9x13 pan.

  4. Cook for 40 minutes.

  5. Put cooked mixture in a sauté pan. Add tomato paste. Add crushed tomatoes.

  6. Cook on low for 30 minutes. Stir regularly.

  7. While the sauce is cooking on the stove, brown the ground bison in a medium saute pan.

  8. Once meat and sauce are cooked, combine. Allow sauce and meat to cook together for about 10 minutes on low.
