SPAGHETTI & BISON MEATSAUCE
A light and yummy version of pasta meat sauce. I loved this and plan to use the base marinara for LOTS of other delicious recipes.
TIME: about 1 and 1/2 hours (mostly cooking time!)
INGREDIENTS
14 oz ground bison
1 pint cherry tomatoes
7 Campari tomatoes
7 cloves garlic
1 tbsp basil
1/8 tsp red chili flakes
1 tbsp olive oil
Salt & pepper
6 oz can tomato paste
28 oz crushed fire roasted tomatoes
INSTRUCTIONS
Turn oven to 450F. Put parchment paper in 9x13 pan.
Cut tomatoes in 1/4.
Cook cherry tomatoes, Campari tomatoes, garlic cloves, basil, red chili flakes, olive oil, and salt & pepper in a 9x13 pan.
Cook for 40 minutes.
Put cooked mixture in a sauté pan. Add tomato paste. Add crushed tomatoes.
Cook on low for 30 minutes. Stir regularly.
While the sauce is cooking on the stove, brown the ground bison in a medium saute pan.
Once meat and sauce are cooked, combine. Allow sauce and meat to cook together for about 10 minutes on low.
