I’ve shared a lot of chili recipes over the last few weeks, but it is my favorite dish to make during the holidays. I like this chili because the addition of kidney beans adds another layer of flavor and heartiness to the dish.

As always, this is a great meal prep recipe if one of your 2024 New Years resolutions is to start cooking more at home.

Enjoy!

RECIPE CARD

TIME TO MAKE: 3 to 6 hours

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1 yellow onion

  • 1/2 tsp garlic

  • 1/2 tbsp oregano

  • 2 chili beans

  • 2 kidney beans

  • 28 oz diced tomatoes

  • 15 oz diced tomatoes

  • 1 tbsp chili powder

  • 1/2 tbsp cumin

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. In a medium saute pan, on medium heat, add ground beef, onion, garlic powder, and oregano.

  2. Once the meat is thoroughly cooked, transfer it to a crock pot. Add the chili beans, kidney beans, diced tomatoes, chili powder and cumin to the crock pot.

  3. Cook on low heat for 6 hours or high heat for 3.

  4. Enjoy!

TIPS

  • I love to serve chili with some sort of shredded cheese and saltines. However, get fun with the toppings! Some of my friends love to eat this chili with sour cream, sourdough bread, cilantro, etc.

  • Double this recipe for the perfect meal prep for the whole week.
