TIME: 2 hours and 30 minutes (2 hours in the fridge)
MAKES: 24-26 cookies
INGREDIENTS
1 cup browned butter
1 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup maple syrup
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking soda
2.5 cups flour
1 cup dark chocolate chips
2 tsp sea salt

In a medium bowl, combine brown sugar, baking soda, and flour.
Brown the butter. To do this, heat a medium sauté pan on medium heat with the butter. One the butter bubbles and foams, stir vigorously. As the butter begins to darken, continue to stir. Once all the butter is nearly the same darkened color, remove from heat and transfer to a bowl.
Combine the eggs, maple syrup, browned butter, and vanilla.
In a large bowl, combine wet and dry ingredients. Then stir in the chocolate chips.
Separate the dough into cookie dough balls and place in fridge for at least 2 hours (and up to one week).
When you’re ready to cook, heat oven to 350F. Bake cookies for 9 minutes. Remove and sprinkle a small amount of sea salt on cookies while still warm.
Allow to cool. Serve!
