Apple Crisp
It’s OFFICIALLY fall. The weather has turned crisp and I felt inspired to make apple crisp. This recipe is a softer variation on an apple crisp, but I will share one that is crisper. I love to serve this with some ice cream. Enjoy!!
RECIPE CARD
TIME TO COOK: about 45 minutes
INGREDIENTS: APPLE MIXTURE
6 apples (half McIntosh, half Honeycrisp)
1/2 cup sugar
3/4 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla
INGREDIENTS: TOPPINGS
1/2 cup flour
2/3 cup old fashioned oats
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/3 stick butter, melted & cooled
INSTRUCTIONS
Pre-heat oven to 350F.
Peel the apples and then slice them into even pieces. Combine apples with sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla.
In a separate bowl, combine flour, oats, cinnamon, and butter.
In a baking pan, add the apple mixture. Then on top add the toppings mixture. Toss the apples in the topping mixture.
Place in oven for 60-70 minutes. Serve with vanilla ice cream.
Serve!
TIPS:
Start checking the crisp regularly after about 45 minutes. Some ovens may cook it faster depending on the type of oven you have.
Serve while warm! You can toss the crisp back in the oven to serve as leftovers.
